Well, Grandma, Kristin, Rodney, and Ava came to visit us, and even though it’s not quite Christmas yet, we gave each other gifts. We also went to two different beaches, and a waterfall. We had so much fun, and it went by way to fast I cannot believe Ava is getting that big so fast. She is so cute, and now I miss her more then ever. We all enjoyed their visit a lot and encourage more people to visit us through out the years that we will be here. I wish God’s love and protection upon all of you, and I pray that God will bless you all through out this Christmas season. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Well it has been a while since I wrote last and things have changed a little bit. For one thing we got a little kitten and we named him Pup. He is so little we have to feed him with a bottle now but that is better than the eye dropper that we were using.  His mom was getting into a Haitian’s garden so they threw rocks at it and killed it, so they gave the kitten to us.

Kathy sent us a box and in it was a bunch of drawings from my Sunday school Class in Peoria.  Every kid drew a picture of him or herself and I could guess who most of them were before I read the names. It was fun to read them and I really enjoyed them, so thanks to each of you future artists and thanks for praying for us.

Well I got a machete now too, and I like it a lot they are only about $2.00 down here  Sarah and I dropped out of volleyball now that school started we had fun though Well so much for the birds. Sarah‘s and Hannah’s flew into the fan. Hannah’s was killed and Sarah’s birds head got cut off.  Now all we have is Brie, my bird, and Aj mom’s bird. Mom gave Aj to Sarah now. Well at least Brie and Aj are doing fine.

There is a lady on the way to church who lives under a tree she has reddish hair which means she is not very healthy.  We give her food some times, but there is some people who live very close who give her food regularly.  She is always is sitting in the same spot every Sunday. We don’t think she can speak, and Mom says she thinks she is mentally handi-capped. We have some pictures of her and I hope we can send them soon.

There’s a teenage girls volleyball at the missionary school, it is for the missionary kids and for Haitians. Rod and Debbie Wray are in charge of it. Sarah had been going for a few days and when Rod left they asked me to play for a while.  Well Rod came home now and he still is letting me play even though I am only 12.  I am getting better at volley ball now and I hope he will let me play for a while longer because I am having fun. We play every morning before it gets to hot!!! I got some cute pictures of faith I hope we can send some of them.

 Bye for now

Now that Sarah got a machete it is easier to cut open coconuts   We made coconut cups.  They’re really cool.  We use them some times.

Sarah and I started a basket weaving class from a man named Timothy. We are learning how to make fruit baskets.  So far we have just learned how to do the bottoms.

There’s an old swing set in our yard, but there are no swings on it. So we like to play on it a lot by climbing on the bars. There is also a depot, which is a storage shed, with concrete walls and a flat roof. We got blankets and slept up there once and we tried to do it again, but we got rained out.  I hope we can do it another time.  It has a small ledge all around so you can’t roll in your sleep and fall off.

One day, the missionary kids told us about this place where you can swim in the river. We all went there a few times. There’s a big cliff that you can jump off of into the river.  Last time we went some of us did front flips off of it.  It’s about 15 feet high.  It’s really fun though, but it’s not safe to dive off.

Faith learned how to roll over now and we bought a walker for her that she likes a lot. She’s getting cuter every day.

Last Friday, Hannah & I joined some of the other missionary kids in going to an orphanage near the compound. Sarah was sick that day, so she didn't go. The Gutweins made the arrangements for it. There was a little playground, but it only had two seesaw type swings and a slide about four feet long. It was all rusty, but it still worked. We brought jump ropes and Frisbees to play with them and we taught them how to do three legged races. At first they just wanted to hop on one foot, but then some of them got the hang of it. We never went inside it, but we played in the gravel area outside that was their yard. There was a little porch thing, (really just some boards nailed together), with a table and chairs on it that had some coloring pages of Bible stories and they had some crayons, too. We had to bring our own water bottles to drink because you couldn't drink the water there. They had a pump with a five gallon bucket there that they drank out of. They had four dogs and one little puppy, but they were too scared to be petted. They taught us how to play some of their games and we had a lot of fun. I hope we can go back there sometime.

So far it has been pretty hot down here but we’re getting used to it. We are finally starting to unpack more stuff. The reason we haven’t done this already is because all of our windows are getting replaced. They are almost done with them though. Faith has been grumpy, grumpy, grumpy. She has been having gas pains lately and it is almost impossible to keep her happy! I hope she gets over it soon.   I’m glad there are good climbing trees here because it helps make it feel more like home. Some things changed for the better though. Like all the lizards, we are having fun playing

with the lizards. Well it’s about time to get ready for church so I better go now
