Last Sunday, we went with Beth Newton up to the church at Chonje which is in the Bonne Fin area and picked up Sheila who had been there for a little over 2 weeks practicing her Creole. On the way up, we saw a Haitian Gas Truck, (a donkey with gallon jugs all over in the packs). Tim asked how many gallons it could hold and they said 50. It is amazing the commerce that goes on all throughout these hills. The road was very bad, but we made it there and back without any problems.

Every once in a while I stop up at the clinic here by the compound and I usually stop at a very special bed. Baby Hope is a hydrocephalic baby that was left in a carrying case at the clinic when she was just a little baby. They figure she is right around the same age as Faith. Because of the situation here in Haiti, they cannot operate on her so her head continues to grow. She has been lying in her hospital bed now for over a year and can not even roll over because of the size of her head. Many of the ladies around will pick her up and every time I go there she always is dressed and has her hair done, so I think she has become everyone’s pet. She loves the attention and has a beautiful smile. Faith enjoyed playing with her and didn’t want to leave. It was easy to see that with Faith and Hope, there was plenty of Love.
