I have been busy with the Guest House, but I really like it and this gives me a chance to practice my Creole.  In the summer we don't have work teams staying there, but there are others who use it when it is not being used for work teams.  Mostly these are Haitians who are in the area working for one ministry or another and need a place to stay over night or for a few days, or sometimes other missionaries from areas farther away need a place while they are in town, so they give us a call.  It has 5 rooms and can sleep 17.  One of the hardest things is that people will just call out of the blue and need a room and sometimes food. Neither one of the Guest House ladies that do the cooking can read, so you can’t just drop by a note telling of the spur of the moment changes in the count for the meals, so you usually have to drive down to their houses which are thankfully, not very far from the guest house.  I’m amazed how well the ladies make do with whatever schedule I give them. Junot will come to our house and bring the list for the groceries and I give him the money that he thinks he will need. Then after he is done shopping for the next week, he returns with whatever money is left or asks me for more if it wasn’t enough.  Without these great helpers, running the guest house would be a huge job, but the way it is, it works out pretty well.
